KSP personnel are currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Branch View Lane in Russell Springs this morning.
Russell County dispatch notified Post 15 at 8:07 AM that they received a call in reference to a shooting.
The investigation revealed that a verbal argument between 43-year-old Daniel Shane Popplewell and 45-year-old Charles P. Farmer, both of Russell Springs, escalated into a physical altercation that led to Charles Farmer shooting Popplewell inside Farmer's residence.
Popplewell died as a result of his injuries.
Farmer was arrested, charged with Murder and lodged in the Russell County Jail.
The case will be presented to the Russell County Grand Jury at a time to be determined by the Commonwealth Attorney's office.
