Kentucky author, Robert Penn Warren, is honored on a U.S. postage stamp on the 100th anniversary of his birth. The stamp was unveiled in Warren's hometown of Guthrie.
He was the first official poet laureate of the United States, and a three-time recipient of the Pulitzer Prize, twice for poetry, and once for his best-known novel "All The Kings Men, " which inspired an academy award-winning film.
Robert Penn Warren was born April 24, 1905 and died September 15, 1989. He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1980.
