It was once a controversial issue, the sale of liquor by the drink in the city of Franklin.
Now, six months after the city voted to sell alcohol some restaurant owners are saying business is booming.
The first alcoholic beverage was sold more than a week ago at T-ROD’S restaurant.
In November, Franklin residents voted for the sale of liquor by the drink. When it passed it allowed the sale of alcohol in restaurants that seat more than 100 people and get 70% of their revenue from food. From there it was up to each individual restaurant to make the next move to get license to sell liquor by the drink.
T-ROD’S and Sol Azteca are the only two restaurants selling liquor by the drink. While, the Franklin Country Club’s application is pending.
