"I went and looked and it was shooting fire, like it was shooting flames way up."

Crews rushed to the Superior Packaging facility in Morgantown, of Clark Landing Road, early Friday morning to find it completely engulfed in flames.

Assistant Fire Chief, Tim Hampton, says they still aren't sure what started the fire, "I was told by one of the workers that he arrived and he had found a small piece of equipment that was on fire. When he walked in I guess it gave it air and there was a small dust explosion and it spread to the rest of the building."

Swimming pool sized water holders were being traded in and out every few minutes to try and take down the blaze.

Dorothy Neighbors lives next door to the site, she says shortly after the fire started she heard a three large explosions.

"It was like boom! And then the second one was like, boom! and then third one was like boom. I was like that's it! I'm going into the house."

Inside the warehouses were finished pallets, lumber pieces and welding equipment.

Workers at the company say several thousands of dollars worth of lumber was at the site, almost all of it not salvageable.

"Fire was coming out of both ends of the building at that time," says Neighbors.

15 to 20 workers are now out of a job, many of them say this place was more than a pay check to them, it was a sense of family.

Neighbors say the fire departments were quick to respond.

"It's scary because you never know which way it'll go, but like I said the fire engines, they got here pretty quick," says Neighbors.

Many of the workers had been there for decades, some close to retirement.

No injuries were reported.

Officials say a large saw mill and a small store building weren't damaged by the fire, but the bulk of the facility will be a total loss.
