LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Metro Louisville police say they've arrested a woman and man who were going through purses during a church service.
WHAS-TV cited a police report that said witnesses saw 18-year-old Kendal A. Peters and 22-year-old Benjamin T. Welsh looking through purses at 2nd Presbyterian Church during Sunday services. Police were called and said they found stolen items on the couple that included an iPhone, a knife and cash.
Police say Peters offered to have sex with officers if they didn't arrest her. She is charged with receiving stolen property, resisting arrest, fleeing on foot and attempted bribery.
Welsh was charged with theft by unlawful taking.
It was unclear Monday whether Peters and Welsh had attorneys.
