This week our crews headed to the community of Quality in Southern Butler County. The community consists of 2 churches, a nursery, a cafe' and no more than 50 residents.
The Quality Market Cafe' draws dozens of visitors to the town each week. Owners Pam and Dwayne Ausbrooke bought and renovated what used to be a general store more than 2 years ago. Since opening, Quality residents say the business has enhanced the overall quality of life in the small community. The cafe' is open 6 days a week. Friday and Saturday nights the population of Quality swells when nearly 150 people pack into the renovated home to hear the sweet sounds of live bands. Patrons are also lured by the smell of home cooking. Friday is catfish night, while Saturday BBQ and baby-back ribs are served.
If you come, be sure to wear a smile as visitors are normally photographed. Hundreds of pictures line the walls of the cafe' capturing quality friends, food and good times.
Tune in next Wednesday to see if our crews will be visiting your hometown.
