Beginning June 16th, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital will be selling 6,000 raffle tickets for $100 each or a $250,000 home to be built by Doug Martens Construction. Sponsors broke ground this morning at the site in Sutherland Farms Subdivision off Three Springs Road just outside Bowling Green.
St. Jude patients never pay a cent. The hospital relies primarily on public contributions to pay the $1,000,000-a-day it costs to operate.
Jessica Scheu from Evansville, Indiana is a cancer survivor who knows how vital St. Jude is. She say, "St. Jude's basically gave me my life back. They saved my life. They cured me from cancer. They've been my family. They've supported me. They've just been there the whole time, never ask for anything back. They were just so helpful, so supportive, they just mean everything."
