Jim Parsons (known to most as Dr. Sheldon Cooper on the CBS hit sitcom The Big Bang Theory) has publicly acknowledged that he is gay and in a 10-year relationship.
The New York Times interviewed Parsons concerning his recent work on Broadway, playing a gay activist in The Normal Heart.
"The Normal Heart resonated with him on a few levels: Mr. Parsons is gay and in a 10-year relationship, and working with an ensemble again onstage was like nourishment," writes Times author Patrick Healy, though no direct quotes were included in the article.
The Emmy Award-winning 39-year-old did not identify his long-term partner or go into detail about his private life.
