Bowling Green Commission Pledges Road $

Every survey of Bowling Green residents over the past few years shows traffic is your biggest concern, so the city commission has decided to pledge $1 million dollars a year towards fixing some of the congestion.

At their work session this afternoon, all 5 commissioners expressed their support for putting $1.03 million in city funds towards long-term road projects each fiscal year.

The projects near the top of the list include improvements to State and Chestnut streets, widening Smallhouse road, and straightening the "s" curve on Broadway Avenue.

The city's money will be combined with county, state, and federal funds to push 16 projects into construction over the next 20 years.
