A Harlan County boy who was run over by a school bus is reported in critical condition at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
Six-year-old James Michael Billings had just gotten off the bus when authorities believe his backpack fell off and he reached under the bus to retrieve it.
The bus driver, 54-year-old, James Clem was taken from the scene by a school official for required alcohol and drug testing.
Police say Clem thought all the children were clear of the bus after the stop.
No charges have been filed against Clem, who will not drive his route again until the investigation is completed.
