Kids from St. Joe's Catholic School are able to experience the great outdoors due to a grant from General Motors.

Will Cooksey, the manager of the Bowling Green plant says it's important for the kids to work in the outdoors, and learn about the environment.

While they got to splash around a little, the science students are learning at the same time. They tested the water for nitrates, dissolved oxygen, the temperature, and the PH level.

Mentors from General Motor's Women in Manufacturing, were also on hand to help the students.

Next week the kids will be back out at the stream finding the different kinds of animals that live in the water.
