The state attorney general's office says the governor's effort to withhold some computer records could prevent a proper investigation into state hiring practices.
Spokeswoman Vicki Glass says Attorney General Greg Stumbo agreed to wait until this week to discuss the matter with Fletcher’s lawyers. She adds they'll go to court Wednesday if necessary to win access to all computer data seized last week.
One of Fletcher’s lawyers says the governor's office is cooperating and wants to provide all information relevant to the investigation, but adds the governor believes many records are related to confidential policy development.
