A Grayson County constable is no longer performing his duties after officials find out about a felony arrest in another state, from several years ago.
First district constable Charles "Chuck" Gibson has been stripped of his insurance and blue light and is no longer working as a constable in Grayson County.
Clarkson police officer, Dan Peterson, learned of Gibson's felony arrest from Illinois, while doing routine background checks.
"There were rumors he was a convicted felon. He had one. Like I said we didn't know, so we turned it over to the county attorney."
On February 14 of this year, the Grayson County Fiscal Court amended their constable criteria to say that a constable cannot be a convicted felon.
