Judge Sides With State Attorney General

Governor Ernie Fletcher went to court Monday morning seeking to prevent investigators from obtaining all the records from the agency that runs the state computer system.

Fletcher's office says the investigation of personnel practices is going too far by seeking potential confidential communications.

But a judge refused to block the attorney general's office from examining millions of state e-mails.

Greg Stumbo's office says they're looking for evidence of personnel abuses in Fletcher’s administration.

A lawyer from the state' computer agency says only a tiny portion of the e-mails might relate to the two dozen people cited by the investigation.

Assistant Attorney General Pierce Whites says the attorney general won't disclose any unrelated information.

Whites also pointed out state policy makes clear e-mails can be reviewed at any time by government officials.
