At today's fiscal court meeting, magistrates voted 5-to-1 to raise the Solid Waste Rate Cap 7.7 percent. Tommy Hunt cast the lone dissenting vote.
The new rates effective in Warren County July 1st are $15.25 per month where curbside recycling is available, and $17.25 per month where there is no curbside recycling.
This is Scott Waste Management's first rate increase in three years. Warren County EPA Coordinator, Stan Reagan, says Scott Waste Management could have asked for as much as an 8.5 percent increase.
