Bush Comes to Town

For the second time in three months, President George W. Bush plans to visit Kentucky. This time he’ll visit Hopkinsville to talk about his proposals to reform Social Security.

President Bush has proposed to have younger workers divert portions of their payroll tax into private investments like stocks and bonds, but many are questioning that women, minorities and blue-collar workers would be treated differently in the proposed new system.

The President’s plan has been criticized by many Democrats and advocacy groups that say the personal investment accounts would undermine Social Security.
