A man charged with killing three members of an Adair County family has withdrawn his guilty plea and will stand trial.
A judge allowed 32-year-old William Harry Meece to withdraw the plea during a hearing yesterday after Meece had said he didn't make the deal voluntarily.
Meece was charged in the 1993 shooting deaths of Joseph Wellnitz, his wife, Beth, and her son, Dennis.
An alleged accomplice, Margaret "Meg" Wellnitz Appleton, pleaded guilty in January to three counts of complicity to murder and has agreed to testify against Meece.
A trial date has not been set.
