Raymond Beliles met his wife at Sandy Creek Missionary Baptist Church, and they’ve been married for almost 60 years.
“A lot of weddings take place here, lot of people become Christians here, it’s really something to me.”
Beliles says the church is filled with a close-knit group of people who really care about each other and the Lord.
Sunday morning, the Sandy Creek Missionary Baptist Church celebrated its 200-year anniversary.
Former pastors of the church were recognized and members of the Kentucky Baptist Convention out of Louisville came down for the celebration.
The Sandy Creek Missionary Baptist Church is one of about 75 churches across the state that celebrated a milestone just like this one.
Beliles says the church plans on staying around for another 200 years.
