A Bowling Green man takes 15 years in prison after being found guilty of setting his girlfriend on fire.
Warren Circuit Judge Steve Wilson announced the verdict -- Ronald Lee Hibbitt was guilty of second degree assault and second degree wanton endangerment.
The jury convicted Hibbitt for spraying gasoline on his girlfriend.. Charlie Pratt.. then setting her on fire in his parents' home April 15th of 2004.
She recovered and was in the courtroom when the verdict was read.
The jury could have sentenced Hibbitt to 5 to 20 years in prison. But instead of taking that chance, Hibbitt agreed to the Commonwealth's offer of 15 years. His final sentencing is set for July 18th.
