An area elderly lady is listed in critical condition after crawling her way out of her burning house. Late last night a fire broke out in Russellville, severely burning Mary Lee Carter. Carter is a Russellville resident in her mid 80's. Officers patrolling the area noticed the flames and called for help.
Carter is paralyzed from the waste down and had to crawl out of the house toward the sound of the officers' voices. The cause of the fire is unknown. Carter was lifeflighted to Vanderbilt Hospital where she is being treated for first and second degree burns.
