Life before getting a new house on the ABC show "Extreme Makeover - Home Edition" was tough for the Byers family, but since that episode aired back in October, life for this family has gotten even tougher.
First their daughter lost her battle with cancer.
And now the family could lose their dream home.
The Extreme Home Makeover crews demolished the Byers' old house, but the old mortgage still stands.
"There's still $250,000 left on the old mortgage that they have to pay, and then they have to pay property taxes on the new value of home because it's a lot more than the old home was," explained Umpqua Bank Manager, Heather Rogers.
Add to that skyrocketing utility bills, anywhere from $5 to $700 a month.
"A lot more than any American family has to pay on their utilities, the house is so large with so many windows," said Rogers.
And compounding the problem even more, family friends say Boey's dad Rob, who owns a cleaning business, recently lost a major client.
For a family that just lost a daughter, a sister, a warrior like Boey, it's hard to imagine the situation getting any worse.
"The house is going to be lost if something doesn't happen, and here's something the community built for them, and I don't think the community wants it to be lost," stated Steven Bjork, a Byers Family friend and spokesperson.
Boey loved this community and this community loved her.
The Byers now just ask that the community keep showing that love.
"If they look back and say well we did all this stuff for them, and yes they did a lot, and we're thankful for that, but see the thing is, that one big piece, the piece of the puzzle that could actually lose the house, that's the tough part right now," said Bjork.
