It’s a disturbing scene, many times when police officers show up at a raid they’re greeted by more than just the meth users.
“You don’t know what you’re going to come up on.”
Police have been finding more and more children in homes where meth busts occur.
Once these kids have been removed from the home, they’re placed in foster care. 80% of the children who are put in foster care are the result of meth activity. Sadly, that number is increasing.
Nickie Jones works for the Family Enrichment Center and says a lot of times these kids are secluded from just about everything.
“It’s not surprising to find an 8-year-old in the home who’s never been to school.”
Jones says in most cases these kids can overcome this battle if they get the help they need.
