The fee for drivers licenses goes up from $8 to $20, effective July 1.
Warren County Circuit Court Clerk Pat Goad says you should anticipate long lines if you are wanting to renew your license.
The increase is the result of a house bill passed to provide additional revenue for highway improvements and administrative fees.
Aside from the increase in the regular driver’s license, motorists can also expect to pay more for learner's permits and duplicate licenses which will go from $6 to $12.
Personal identification cards will go from $4 to $12 and combination motorcycle operator's licenses will increase from $18 to $30.
Commercial driver's licenses will also go up to $47, as well as transfer commercial drivers’ licenses from other states, which will climb to $60.
