Kentucky State Police continue to investigate a Sunday night shooting in Grayson County. State Police in Elizabethtown responded to the shooting that left one person dead and another injured. Police say 28-year-old Rodney Harvey used a knife to force his fiancee into the Woodrum residence.
When he kicked in the door, he found a gun laying out and forced the girlfriend and Mr. and Mrs. Woodrum to sit on the couch at gunpoint. When Harvey pointed the gun at Sandra Woodrum, she tried to grab it, and a struggle ensued. K.S.P. officials say the gun went off, striking Mrs. Woodrum in the face. They say Mr. Woodrum then wrestled the gun away from Harvey, fatally wounding Harvey.
Mrs. Woodrum was stat-flighted to University Hospital in Louisvlle, where she is in "serious" condition. Kentucky State Police in Elizabethtown say no charges against Mr. Woodrum are filed at this time. They also say that there had been disagreements between Harvey and the Woodrum's in the past.
