Lethal Injection Decision

A judge says Kentucky’s method of administering lethal injections to condemned prisoners still stands.

Franklin County Circuit Judge Roger Crittenden found only one flaw with the process.

He says placing an IV into the jugular vein creates unnecessary pain and torture and violates an inmate's constitutional rights.

The use of lethal injection was challenged by condemned prisoners Thomas Clyde Bowling and Ralph Baze. They claimed Kentucky’s procedures were cruel punishment.
