One of Bowling Green's First African American Police Officers Retires

Captain Charles W. Hunter first became a Bowling Green Police officer in 1969. He has also served with Kentucky State Police. He says he is proud of all his promotions and of an initiative called the SHOCAP program, aimed at helping habitual juvenile offenders.

Bowling Green's patches have undergone changes and Hunter is the only officer to wear all three of them. He hasn't decided what he plans to do in the future.
