A major lifeline from Bowling Green to the state line is about to see some big changes.
In the past few years the state expanded Interstate 65 from Bowling Green into Barren County, and now plans are in the works to expand that even farther.
The state is expanding I-65 from Bowling Green down to the Tennessee state line.
With over 900 fatalities on Kentucky highways last year, lawmakers are doing everything they can to help cut down on this ever-growing number.
With this expansion, they hope to attract new businesses to the area by giving them easier access to Tennessee.
This project, which is going to be done in sections, is expected to cost several million dollars with money being appropriated by state and federal funds.
Though the expansion will cause some delays, in the long run it will make travel easier.
