An investigation continues into the cause of a fire that gutted Lake Malone Inn.
Firefighters arrived to find the vacant hotel and restaurant engulfed in flames. The well-known western Kentucky inn is located in the community of Dunmore in Muhlenberg County.
Fire officials believe the fire started in the front of the building, but say it will take some time to determine the cause. Assistant Dunmore Fire Chief Van Mitchell says firefighters were called at about 1:40 Sunday morning. Six Muhlenberg county fire departments and one from Logan County responded.
The inn closed in September and no one was in the building at the time of the fire.
