A 73-year-old man, along with two women passengers misjudged how deep the still waters really were on a flooded road in Warren County.
It happened around 6:00 p.m. on March 19 on Fred Lively Road.
The driver tried to negotiate the water, but ran off the road into a ditch.
Seconds later, water began pouring into the vehicle.
The Woodburn Volunteer Fire Department was the first to respond to the scene.
All three people in the car were rescued with no problem and no injuries.
Chief Bob Skipper says the victims were lucky this time
"We're fortunate the water is still, not running, so the people were fairly easy to rescue, said, Chief Bob Skipper, of the Woodburn Volunteer Fire Dept.
The area has now been barricaded until the water level declines.
