Two cabinet contacts for Governor Fletcher's "personnel initiative" that was designed to circumvent hiring laws appeared before a special grand jury today.
Attorney Elmer George of Lebanon says Judy Piazza was the contact in the Environmental and Public Protection Cabinet.
Also testifying was Carol Beth Counts-Martin.
Court records identify her as the Justice Cabinet's personnel initiative contact.
Counts-Martin left a large stack of documents in the grand jury room.
The grand jury has so far indicted nine current or former administration officials on misdemeanor criminal charges that they violated personnel laws.
Fletcher himself has been subpoenaed to appear before the grand jury on August 30th, but has dodged questions about it since he received the summons last Friday.
