Even the dreary days are happy days at the Bowling Green Parks and Recreation camp.
Camp Happy Days Director, Brent Belcher, says, "We have a variety of activities: arts and crafts, field trips, active games, movies, all sorts of things."
The camp is designed for children with mental or physical disabilities and they have an active schedule. Belcher says, "Our goal is to make sure every child gets to participate in everything they want to do."
No one is left out as the staff teaches the kids to enjoy who they are. He says, "They're the center of our attention, when they come here our goal is to make sure we're here to have a fun summer with them and do activities... everything we can do to make their day great."
Space is limited in the camp each summer and several children return every year.
