A Western Kentucky University student is dead after a stunt went horribly wrong.
Friends say 19-year-old Ben Watson was *car surfing* Saturday night when he jumped off after noticing a police car approaching.
He hit his head on the ground, cracking his skull.
Watson died Sunday at the University Hospital in Louisville.
Jim Watson, the boy's father says, "If this tragedy can save one other student, one other teenager to say, 'that could be me' , and have them actually say that, then some good came out of this."
A memorial service will be held for Ben Watson in Louisville.
One of the teen's friends was charged with reckless homicide.
Louisville Metro Police say they will turn the case over to the Commonwealth's Attorney to determine if charges need to be filed.
Watson's family says they hold no one responsible.
