Power Outage -Residents Given Extra Day

AN UNEXPECTED POWER OUTAGE THURSDAY MORNING MEANS EVICTED RESIDENTS OF "BOWLING GREEN ESTATES" GET A 24-HOUR REPRIEVE.
TENANTS EVICTED EARLIER THIS WEEK WERE TOLD THE ELECTRICITY WOULD BE CUT OFF AT TWO O'CLOCK THURSDAY AFTERNOON.
INSTEAD...THE POWER WENT OUT BEFORE TEN THURSDAY MORNING.
ACCORDING TO B-G-M-U.... A LIMB FELL ON A LINE CAUSING NEARLY FOUR THOUSAND CUSTOMERS TO LOSE POWER.
ELECTRICITY WAS RESTORED AFTER ABOUT 35 MINUTES...BUT THE OUTAGE PROMPTED THE CITY TO EXTEND THE DEADLINE UNTIL TWO O'CLOCK FRIDAY.
MANY OF THE TENANTS WENT TO THE BOGLE BUILDING ON RUSSELLVILLE ROAD THIS AFTERNOON TO RECEIVE THEIR DEPOSITS...BUT SOME FELT THERE WAS NO GUARANTEE THEY WOULD GET A FULL REFUND.
THE CITY OF BOWLING GREEN... HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION... BOWLING GREEN HOUSING AUTHORITY... SALVATION ARMY... CHURCHES... AND OTHER GROUPS ARE HELPING FAMILIES FIND NEW HOUSES.
CITY PERSONNEL WILL INSPECT THE BUILDING ON OR AFTER JULY 19TH.
