It was graduation day for local law enforcement personnel who completed the Spanish Immersion Program.
For eight weeks, 18 law enforcement staff members traded in their day jobs for schoolwork.
The students underwent intense lessons in reading, writing and speaking Spanish.
The program is part of an effort to equip law enforcement personnel with Spanish speaking skills to meet the needs of a growing Latino population.
