Residents are blaming their landlord for the terrible conditions of Bowling Green Estates.

Many are calling their situation "ridiculous" as they move out of their condemned apartments before Friday at 2 p.m. But, luck was on their sides Thursday afternoon when a power outage struck the Russellville Road area for about 35 minutes.

The city gave a 24-hour extension to affected residents. Bowling Green Municipal Utilities says a limb fell on a power line causing the outage. The city of Bowling Green, Human Rights Commission, Bowling Green Housing Authority, Salvation Army, Churches and other groups are helping families find new houses.

Deadline for move out is Friday at 2 p.m.
