They’re fluffy, furry and down right adorable. Several animals are sleeping in a new home thanks to a brand new shelter.
The new Simpson County Animal Shelter has been in the works for about a year and a half. This past week, the shelter opened its doors thanks to an $86,000 state grant and several donations from the community.
Simpson County Animal Control Officer, Mike Martin, says this new facility gives them an advantage over the old building. He says they will soon be able to house cats.
