MONTGOMERY, Ind. (AP) -- Authorities say a southern Indiana teenager has died from her injuries after being thrown from a horse-drawn cart struck by a pickup truck.
Daviess County sheriff's deputies say 17-year-old Amy Wagler of Montgomery was a passenger in a horse-drawn cart that was struck Monday night on a rural road by a pickup driven by 17-year-old Tristan Wagler of Montgomery.
The Washington Times Herald reports The collision ejected all four of the cart's passengers, but three weren't injured.
Amy Wagler was transported to a local hospital and then transferred to St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville, where she died from her injuries.
It wasn't clear if she was related to the pickup driver. Wagler is a common surname in the area about 50 miles northeast of Evansville.
