A desperately ill woman is making a desperate plea for help on March 25.

She is battling a deadly cancer, but says she can't get the medicine she needs.

So she's taking novel advantage of a popular website with some help from Hollywood.

Actor Patrick Swayze is pictured in the YouTube video alongside 62-year- old Connie Loughman of Indiana.

Both have Pancreatic Cancer-- one of the most deadly forms of disease.

Loughman's family is hoping Swayze's celebrity and YouTube viewers will help them get her a promising new experimental drug.

They've set up a website asking people to email the biotech company GenVec, which produces the drug TNFerade-- now in the last phase of clinical trials--trials Loughman is not eligible for because of prior alternate treatments:

"Why won't they release this drug to me? Why can't I have it, why do I have to suffer like this?" said Connie Loughman, a cancer patient.

The Loughmans want what's known as compassionate use treatment, which allows people in life threatening situations access to drugs not yet approved by the FDA.

"I said we're willing to pay for the drug we'll release you from any liability and we were told no." Jackie Loughman.

GenVec has not yet established such a compassionate care program and in an email told the family that "all of our supply of TNFerade has been committed to our clinical trials, experts say such programs pose a dilemma for companies"

"It would clearly set back clinical trials substantially if we allowed anyone to have any drug they wanted," said Len Lichtenfeld.

The Loughmans believe TNFerade could cure their mother's cancer, but GenVec says in most cases the drug buys patients an extra four months.
