The Western Kentucky University family continued its growth this weekend. More than 900 graduates received their diplomas at the 152nd commencement. This was the first official graduation under the renovated Diddle Arena.
This year for the first time students entered the ceremony from newly renovated ground level entrances and parents watched speakers and graduates close-up on new video boards.
The university also awarded a degree posthumously to Kenneth Rowan Jr., an Owensboro senior who died in a traffic accident along the Natcher Parkway Dec. 4.
