Hometown Hero: Judy Myers

By  |

Through rain, sleet and snow, one Bowling Green woman has made sure your mail arrived safely and on time. However, after more than 28 years of service, Bowling Green Postmaster Judy Myers is retiring.

Besides overseeing one of the largest postal operations in the state, she's played a very active role within our community serving on various boards and committees.

Myers is not the first in her family to have a distinguished postal career, her father, several uncles, an aunt, her grandmother and great grandfather all worked within the US Postal Service. In fact, Judy met her husband on the job and they would later share the same title. Her husband, Charley Myers, retired as postmaster of Glasgow in 2001.

When asked which accomplishments made her the most proud she said, "I am proud of the employees of the Bowling Green Post Office and pleased with the employees who have been promoted from this office and carry on the tradition of providing excellent customer service to the public."
