It's a new school year on the Hill and a new day for students to find a place to park.
Jeffrey Henderson, a parking enforcement officer, says: "It's extremely busy. There's a lot of parking problems because it's the beginning of the year, the lots seem to be filling up quickly."
This year there's a relatively new lot on Chestnut Street and a new five story parking structure.
Colby Westerfield, a senior, says with the new structure he doesn't have to walk as far. "It used to be we didn't have this many spots I used to have to park next to Arby's, that lot over there, so this is nice to have."
While the new structure adds 800 spaces, some students say it began to fill up quickly. Jessica Davis, a sophomore, says: "I thought if I got up early and I could get a closer parking spot and it looks like everyone thought the same thing."
Those with the Western's Parking Department say while it's been busy, they hope the new lots will relieve some of the congestion.
