WBKO and Leachman Buick GMC are rewarding an area educator for teaching her students the value of reading.

Karen Skaggs received a check in the amount of $500.00 dollars for her efforts in motivating her students.

So far this year, the second graders in Ms. Skaggs class have read more than 4,000 books.

Over the last ten weeks WBKO and Leachman Buick GMC have given five teachers checks for $500.00.

The total comes to $2,500.00.

I'm so glad that Karen Skaggs was recognized for her teaching ability. My son was in her class and she always encouraged him to excel and to reach new goals. Isaac is a senior at WKU and he emailed me about his. He said he remembered reading in her classroom. Karen is a wonderful person and I have never seen her without a smile! Congratulations, Karen!
