South Central Kentucky Volunteers to Gulf Coast

Volunteers from South Central Kentucky are headed south, to assist with hurricane recovery efforts.

American Red Cross volunteers Paul Costello from Allen County and Bill Schlict from Bowling Green, have been sent to Montgomery, Alabama.

The Red Cross says more volunteers will be deploying in the coming days and weeks.

Bowling Green Municipal Utilities and Warren Rural Electric have also sent crews to help in the recovery from Hurricane Katrina.

Eight electric linemen and four trucks from BGMU left for Greenwood, Mississippi.

Eight linemen from Warren Rural Electric headed to Laurel, Mississippi, to help restore power to approximately 450,000 homes, schools, and businesses.
