Some Bowling Green Police officers are trading in four wheels for two.
Seven officers are going through 32-hours of mountain bike training.
Officers started the week with basic cone exercises, but have advanced to riding down stairs and running upstairs carrying their bike.
The trainers are preparing the officers for duties they could encounter while on patrol.
The BGPD has about 30 officers certified to ride the bikes.
Turner says the bike patrol is important to the force, because sometimes they can get to a scene before a police cruiser.
