Search and rescue teams have given up their search tonight for a possible drowning victim.
More than 50 rescuers converged on the beach near barren river dam tonight after a teenage swimmer called 911.
The teen told rescuers he saw a human hand going under the water in an area about 20 yards from the beach.
"We're going on that assumption that there is. So we've got search and rescue out right now trying to look right now. But as of right now, we haven't found him," said Sgt. Larry Wells, with the KY Dept. Fish and Wildlife.
No one has been reported missing, and rescuers didn't find any signs of the victim before dark.
