Around 500 Kentucky Army National Guard soldiers are leaving to support relief efforts in Louisiana.
Soldiers from twelve different units around the state will begin their deployment by meeting at the Wendell Ford regional training center tomorrow in Muhlenberg County.
The task force will convoy to Alexandria, Louisiana Thursday.
Once there, they will help with transportation, distribution, maintenance, medical, and security missions.
The only South Central Kentucky units involved in this mission are from Greenville and Central city.
There are already 372 Kentucky National Guard airmen helping with the relief effort.
Many of those units will come home, when the new task force arrives.
