James Coomer's Autopsy Report Released

An autopsy report by the Kentucky State Medical Examiner's Office indicates a Metcalfe County man who was killed during a standoff with police in May, died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Metcalfe County Coroner, Larry Wilson, issued the report.

Authorities shot and killed 43-year-old James Coomer on May 31st, after he allegedly fired on police, wounding a state trooper.

Authorities were attempting to serve Coomer with a Barren County warrant on burglary and assault charges and violation of a domestic violence order.

James Coomer's 82-year-old father, Albert, is charged with two counts of assault. He is currently in the Barren County Regional Jail.
