Roll calls of House and Senate votes will be available online in the 2006 General Assembly session.
Though details are yet to be worked out, the Legislative Research Commission has approved the initiative today.
The votes will be posted on the L-R-C's existing Web site.
The 100-member House has had an electronic voting system for many years. Meanwhile, the 38 members of the Senate still answer roll calls by voice vote, which are then recorded electronically.
Voting records have been retained only on paper.
L-R-C Director Bobby Sherman says it's unlikely that votes in committee will be provided electronically.
All of those are still recorded by hand.
The 2006 session starts January third.
