The tenure of Davis Cooper as Bowling Green's Chief Financial Officer is finally and officially over.
Bowling Green's City Commission met tonight and officially fired Cooper almost 6 months after he was arrested and admitted to stealing more than $3 million of taxpayer's money.
The commission held off on officially dismissing Cooper to make sure it can collect his $625,000 in retirement payouts over the next 20 years.
Now that agreement is in place and Cooper's 25-year career is finished.
"It is nice to come close to an end on this chapter. In my mind it'll come to an end when Davis Cooper receives his sentence, and begins or really ends his prison sentence, that in my mind will end this process," said Commissioner Dr. Brian Strow.
Cooper will be back in federal court on September 6th to enter a guilty plea.
