Over the past several weeks, area contractors have reported numerous thefts from their job sites. Thieves are stealing hand tools including saws, drills, nail guns, and other small power tools.

Thousands of dollars in equipment has been stolen from trucks and utility trailers at construction sites on State Street, Campbell Lane, and the Park Hills Subdivision behind Preston Miller Park. Authorities believe this equipment is being stolen and sold or traded to get illegal drugs.
